This groundbreaking initiative aims to foster public support for justice and accountability processes across ethnic divides in Sri Lanka.

Position Details

  • Position: Media Officer
  • Contract Duration: One year (extendable based on performance and project needs)
  • Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka (with some travel as required)
  • Reporting To: Project Manager
  • Salary: To be determined

Key Responsibilities

As Media Officer, you will:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive media strategy to promote PUJA’s goals.
  • Build and maintain strong media relationships with journalists and influencers.
  • Create and disseminate engaging multimedia content for various platforms.
  • Manage PUJA’s website and social media channels to ensure consistent messaging.
  • Monitor media coverage and analyze trends to refine strategies.
  • Collaborate with project partners to amplify public awareness campaigns on transitional justice.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a candidate who has:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Proven experience in media relations, journalism, or communication, preferably in human rights or social justice.
  • Excellent English communication skills, with proficiency in Sinhala and/or Tamil being a strong advantage.
  • A deep understanding of media landscapes and transitional justice issues in Sri Lanka.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
