Position Details
- Position: Media Officer
- Contract Duration: One year (extendable based on performance and project needs)
- Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka (with some travel as required)
- Reporting To: Project Manager
- Salary: To be determined
Key Responsibilities
As Media Officer, you will:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive media strategy to promote PUJA’s goals.
- Build and maintain strong media relationships with journalists and influencers.
- Create and disseminate engaging multimedia content for various platforms.
- Manage PUJA’s website and social media channels to ensure consistent messaging.
- Monitor media coverage and analyze trends to refine strategies.
- Collaborate with project partners to amplify public awareness campaigns on transitional justice.
Qualifications
We’re looking for a candidate who has:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Proven experience in media relations, journalism, or communication, preferably in human rights or social justice.
- Excellent English communication skills, with proficiency in Sinhala and/or Tamil being a strong advantage.
- A deep understanding of media landscapes and transitional justice issues in Sri Lanka.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
